I hereby declare my support for the preservation of the La Cresta Ridge.

When I think about the future of the La Cresta Ridge and Ravine, I reflect on the generations of Petalumans that have enjoyed this natural open space: Those of us that have gone there for a pleasant evening stroll or to enjoy the panoramic view of our whole community; those of us that walked our dogs there too many times to count; those that saw their children disappear there into creative and unstructured play, though they were never really that far out of view; Or, those that paused for a moment downtown to admire the beautiful open hillsides that surround—and help define—our community. I reflect too on the diverse plant and animal life that call the ridge their home—so much nature so close to our homes.

I am delighted that there is now a chance to preserve the La Cresta Ridge and the adjacent ravine as a permanent passive open space park, and pledge my support for this effort.
